CAMPAIGN FOR THE CREATION OF A CETACEAN SANCTUARY |
|
| |
The Ligurian Sea Sanctuary is the first international marine area in Europe, and similar to it, there are just two other areas in the world (in the Antartic and in the Indian Ocean). This is in a protected area of 87.500 Km2. The three involved governments (France, Italy and the Principality of Monaco) will coordinately reduce the threatens of the cetaceans population. In this area there have always been many cetacean species, big and small, and the most important are: Risso’s dolphin (Grampus griseus), striped dolphin ( Stenella coeruleoalba), bottlenose dolphin (Tursiops truncatus), sperm wale ( Physeter macrocephalus) and fin wale (Balaenoptera physalus). Following this model, we need your support to ask the civil service for a cetacean sanctuary somewhere in our sea, due to the fact that we have three areas with cetaceans and other marine species, which could enjoy total protection. With your support we can achieve our purpose and it will not the only sanctuary in Europe. Send us the letter that you can download here or complete the following form. |
